You know that Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan will star in Abhishek Varman's next, Shiddat, produced by Dharma Productions. The film will go on floors by the end of next year. Varman is still finalising the script, but we now hear that Sanjay Dutt has been asked to play a pivotal role in the film.

Dutt has liked the part and consented in principle. If all goes well, he will sign on the dotted line soon.

Shiddat will be Alia and Varun's fourth film together. The actors debuted together in Student Of The Year in 2012.

After their debut, Alia and Varun were paired together for the second time in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania in 2014 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, its sequel, which released this year.

Varun is not the only hero in Shiddat. The other male lead is Aditya Roy Kapur, whose last film OK Jaanu failed to set the cash registers ringing

Meanwhile, Varun will be next seen in Judwaa 2, the sequel to Salman Khan's 1997 blockbuster. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu. We had told you that both Salman and Karisma, who were members from the original cast, will essay cameos in the project. Judwaa 2 hits theatres in September.

To talk of Alia Bhatt, the actress has signed three films and will begin shooting for Meghna Gulzar's Calling Sehmat soon. It is an Indo-Pak drama and tells a human story in the midst of cross border conflict. Post that, she will begin shooting for Ayan Mukerji's supernatural film Dragon opposite Ranbir Kapoor. And she will also be seen with Ranveer Singh in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boys.
